SA Société Minière & Commerciale de Satadougou, 1898

Part Bénéficiare au porteur, pink with engraved black ornate border and twenty-four unused coupons attached. Dated October 15th, 1898

Incorporated in Paris, France

In Mali, a former French Colony, mining activities in the 19th century were limited to small-scale local gold exploration and exploitation (mainly of alluvial gold). The Satadougou region is one of the highest parts of Mali and although I have no record of the activities of this mining company it is safe to say that the company most probably was active in the exploration of gold in this region. The Success of the company was probably very limited since all coupons are still attached.
