The Ninh Binh province, approx. 100 km south of Hanoi, Vietnam, was the
largest coal (mainly Anthracite) producing province of the country in
French colonial times and still is nowadays. The Société des Charbonnages de
Ninh-Binh exploited the many coal mines in the area.
